Older women of Tafalong like to gather every week on the premisses of the Catholic Church to participate in all kind of activities: singing, juggling, Japanese paper-folding (origami).
Find below the English version of the speech in Amis said by one of the ladies in kimono, followed by the Japanese children song sung by the women altogether:
"Since our childhood has been given by the elders, then, there is what we call "culture" today. It's our treasure.
What I wish is… We, as mothers, as elders, have the responsibility to make it known to our children, so that our village can be improved, so that everyone can have a better life.
If we follow the teaching of the elders, our children will understand. Mothers, fathers and elders are to be respected, and the chief will lead us to a better life. This is what I say for today.
Thank you"
"Den! Den! You worm! Hey, snail!"
"Where is your head?"
"Show your horns, show your points"
"Show us your head!"
Once more~
"Den! Den! You worm! Hey, snail!"
"Where is your head?"
"Show your horns, show your points"
"Show us your head!"
